Jack is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Joyce (Wilde) Whitney four sons: John (Teri) of Jacksonville, Fla., Rod of Des Moines, Iowa, Kevin (Heather) of Cambridge Springs, Pa, and Boyd Whitney of Sherman, N.Y. He was an excellent, self-taught carpenter and also enjoyed hunting and landscaping work around his home. Prior to the Walden family, the Coyle family and the Wilder family served the Perryville community. The facility began operating as a funeral home in the 1920s.

He could fix almost anything and especially enjoyed working on tractors of all kinds. Our facility dates to the pre-civil war era and was used as a hospital for the casualties of the Battle of Perryville on October 8, 1862. Above all he was a hardworking man with a great mechanical aptitude. He was also a longtime member of the Cutting Community Church and a member of the NRA. Jack was a United States Navy Veteran and longtime owner of Jack’s Repair Shop in Findley Lake. Jack was born September 18, 1937, the son of Harry and Mae (Robertson) Whitney.
